Some of you may remember my wife Irie from the old beta days. She’s now in the hospital with Covid and it looks really bad; she is full code and very critical. The doctor called her prognosis “guarded”. Please, if you see this, keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

I don't know how many people are around still who remember my wife Irie, but I wanted to pass on that she died in June. Her name was Betty and she was a bubbly, joyous person in real life, even though she struggled with so much in her lifetime. She had another stroke and passed painlessly. She loved this game and I thought it fitting to let people here know how everything turned out.

Glitch Forever Wiki

Short Version: We have a wiki! Glitch Forever Wiki is an amalgam of the old Glitch-Strategy wiki database and pieces added from the Wayback Machine. I'm managing it with help from Ladyceres and Varaeth, and probably more admins as we go along. Eventually there'll be a blog and such; right now, that side of the site is pretty empty; we wanted to get the wiki functional before the upcoming Zilloween.

... And more. It's weakest on locations right now - the old wiki database only had the original Groddle Isle and a few other regions. Feel free to contact me, here or by leaving a note on my discussion page at the wiki!

how is everyone? is this thing still on?

i've been thinking about glitch/ur/eleven a lot, lately. i wish more of the soundtrack was available on youtube/spotify - i'd love to listen throughout my day, but there's only so many tracks i can find! it's crazy to think about how much time has passed since glitch was happening. i was in fourth grade, and now i'm a college student. eek. i miss playing so often.

is eleven still being updated? i feel like such a negligent alpha tester. i miss you all!

What features of Glitch would you really like to (re)see in Eleven, or even new features?

Dress Up

In my dreams, I fantasize and reminisce upon a time in which I could dress up in a gorgeous gown of my choice alongside a pair of high heels for an extravagant party. I miss the amusement of diving into Jal in a pretty pink polka dot bikini. When exploring the winter wonderland of Nottis, a warm winter jacket with a fluffy pair of snow boots is key to keep from the cold. However, aside from what may be necessary attire in a given moment, there are other factors to consider in the game of dress up. Perhaps one may have the fashionable urge to develop a personal and unique style. In a similar way, I yearn for the freedom to experiment with different hairstyles and accessories. If somebody asked me what one of my biggest wishes was, I would doubtlessly say the ability to play dress up once again.

On a serious note, I really do miss the character customization features in Glitch. This game along its community is truly so unique and amazing, I consider it honorable to have been able to play the original game and be a part of Eleven Giants. Although less players log on to the game and forums nowadays, the shared love of the community for this hidden gem still does exist. So, since the beloved world of Ur has been a little lonely as of lately, let's start a discussion about this. What were your favorite accessories, clothes, and other character customization features? What made them so memorable to you? I'd be so happy to hear back from some fellow Glitchen !

It'd be nice if there was a way to produce loam through some sort of Dirt-Washer tool maybe, or via alchemical tools. It's hard to make Urth blocks when they all need loam, and it takes ages to stock up on it by digging dirtpiles.

I also saw a new project Odd Giants being created from another team. Hoping one of these projects make it to a live launch....I love this game.

I did a survey to join the alpha tests but it seems like from what I read here that the application form is no longer used?

I know integrating more help in a volunteer project is not always easy, I'm willing to devote some time, technical ability, and resources to the project. What would be the best way to start?

Two days ago, a friend of mine told me about how she found the forums of a old, closed game called "Glitch" and how it felt weird reading the messages of old players sad about it closing down. I slowly got more and more curious as she talked about it, which resulted in me searching more about the subject. The more I read, the more i got interested, and now I'm here!

Unlike (I assume) everyone else here, I have never played "Glitch" before, and all my knowledge about it comes from reading other player's experiences in the old forum and some youtube videos forgotten by time. When I learned there were projects bringing it back, my immediate thought was to join the community, and as you can see, I did!

I'm sure it'll be very nice meeting everyone here, and I bet none of you were expecting a new player to join when the game isn't even open for everyone yet! >:P

I patiently wait.

Old Housing System?

I am probably the minority, but I actually really liked the old housing system. Sure, they didn't have the variety of choices that the new housing system offered, but there are many reasons why the old housing system to this day is still my favorite, and I'm sure others can agree. For instance, I absolutely LOVED the idea of having communities of glitchen spread out through various regions of Ur. I remember my large house in Kajuu, where usually most of the Glitchen in the whole region were pretty local. Sometimes there would be neighborhood parties and guests of the community would all bring food and drinks to where the party was being hosted. In addition, it was more convenient to choose which region you wanted to live in and what kind of house was meant for your style. There was actually quite a variety of houses you could purchase around Ur. For example: beehives, cave homes, mansions/large houses, firebog homes, apartment complexes, standard houses that came in different colors and styles, etc. I really miss having this feature in the game and I hope that it could possibly come back in Eleven Giants :).

After Glitch closed I tried quite a few MMO's, none for very long. I hung out in Villagers and Heroes for a while and LotRO because of the great community. Now, I'm just waiting for Eleven.
