Glitch Forever Wiki

Short Version: We have a wiki! Glitch Forever Wiki is an amalgam of the old Glitch-Strategy wiki database and pieces added from the Wayback Machine. I'm managing it with help from Ladyceres and Varaeth, and probably more admins as we go along. Eventually there'll be a blog and such; right now, that side of the site is pretty empty; we wanted to get the wiki functional before the upcoming Zilloween.

... And more. It's weakest on locations right now - the old wiki database only had the original Groddle Isle and a few other regions. Feel free to contact me, here or by leaving a note on my discussion page at the wiki!

how is everyone? is this thing still on?

i've been thinking about glitch/ur/eleven a lot, lately. i wish more of the soundtrack was available on youtube/spotify - i'd love to listen throughout my day, but there's only so many tracks i can find! it's crazy to think about how much time has passed since glitch was happening. i was in fourth grade, and now i'm a college student. eek. i miss playing so often.

is eleven still being updated? i feel like such a negligent alpha tester. i miss you all!

I also saw a new project Odd Giants being created from another team. Hoping one of these projects make it to a live launch....I love this game.

I did a survey to join the alpha tests but it seems like from what I read here that the application form is no longer used?

Two days ago, a friend of mine told me about how she found the forums of a old, closed game called "Glitch" and how it felt weird reading the messages of old players sad about it closing down. I slowly got more and more curious as she talked about it, which resulted in me searching more about the subject. The more I read, the more i got interested, and now I'm here!

Unlike (I assume) everyone else here, I have never played "Glitch" before, and all my knowledge about it comes from reading other player's experiences in the old forum and some youtube videos forgotten by time. When I learned there were projects bringing it back, my immediate thought was to join the community, and as you can see, I did!

I'm sure it'll be very nice meeting everyone here, and I bet none of you were expecting a new player to join when the game isn't even open for everyone yet! >:P

I patiently wait.

is anyone else having this issue?

I've been trying to log into children of ur, and when I click the login button or hit enter it just greys out for a moment and then nothing happens. The world still spins and music still plays, and there's a notification on the bottom left that the world is still loading, no matter how long I wait.

Is this a server issue? Should I just try again another time?

Alpha-to-be name change request thread

This has come up a few times since the announcement, so let's have an official thread.

If you want your game name to be changed, it is FAR EASIER to do so before you get Alpha access.

If you signed up to the list with a different name than is your account name, this also gets confusing...did you forget? did you want it changed? There have been several people filling out the multiple times with the same email and two different names. This post won't reach everyone, but I'm willing to try to nip some of this confusion in the bud before I get to adding you. Because it is an honest-to-Tii ballache to change a user's name after they have an account right now. (Part of the necessary code to do this was embedded in the Glitch webapp, which was not released with the rest of the assets.)

Back in school once again and doing a discussion of tech ethics. Using Mag Maude as a character narrator in the slide presentation and neighborhoods as backgrounds. OMG Bacon, Water, a crab show up and the background music is mostly Hell. I thought it would be a fun way to talk about Slack but it just gave me the sads.

Going to try this...as a temporary thing. I will open and close this thread as this method is feasible.

The list I had everyone sign up for back in August is still being used, but the return on effort is basically very little. Either people aren't checking their emails, or they're not getting them at all (spam or whatever), and it's really frustrating.

For now, post here if you want your account activated. We'll see how this goes. For everyone who wants to play, you must agree to the following:

While this is in no way a legal agreement, we respectfully ask that all pre-release (read alpha, beta, etc...) participants follow the guidelines we provide in regards to sharing information about the game with those outside the testing group. We may modify these guidelines as things progress, and will update the participants when that happens. Breaking of any of these guidelines will result in at least one warning with potential removal from the participant group if things are not resolved.

1) No participant shall share their login info with another person.
2) No participant shall gloat or tease others publicly over their participant status.
3) No participant shall share game video that has neither been provided or approved by the Eleven team. (Note: Sharing screenshots is both allowed and encouraged.)
4) All participants will remember to follow along with the spirit of friendliness and community of Ur.

One glorious day, I will get into Eleven.

Signed up as soon as I saw the original signup, think it was in October? Like many of us, I am still awaiting my invite. It's cool, though, I know LadyCeres et al are busy even outside of Eleven, so I must rein in my impatience. I do check my email every couple weeks, going so far as to search for Eleven in case my spam filter caught the invite. And less often, about once every couple months, check the forum. Sad was I this day when I saw that I could have possibly gotten in had I logged in a month ago. Oh well.

When Glitch was a thing, my (now) fiancee and I discovered it and fell in love with the game. We were new to Glitch and to each other, and I can't help but think the hours spent playing in this wonderful world together also helped our love grow. We played for several months until the servers shut down, and while we are still strong and very much in love all these years later, I still can't help but wish we could get back to that place in time. I know that getting into Eleven isn't going to bring me back to our early years together, but the nostalgia factor alone looking at the screenshots gets me teary-eyed.

This is not intended to coerce anyone to give me an invite (though I certainly wouldn't turn one down!). I just wanted to share a little bit. Anyone else have a special connection between a significant other and the world of Glitch?

Issue with signing into the Forums

Hello!

My wife has created an account but whenever she tries to sign in while browsing the forum it takes her to the "Welcome to the Eleven Alpha Site" and it will show her as logged in. When she clicks back on the "Forum" link in the upper-left it takes her to the Forums but will not show her as logged in. The cycle repeats over and over and we've tried everything we can think of in order to troubleshoot this. If anybody has experience with the issue I'd love some guidance. Thanks!

missing wall colours and floor

This is nothing much but I wanted to put the crack in the floor but its not in my list even though I have used it in my tower, and also I had 1 wall with a white stucco with molding and now its not there and I used the navy stucco with molding but its black I went to see the navy my friend has put on wall and it was navy much lighter than mine, I realise its low on your list of problems and if its not fixed it wont matter at all, thanks so much for the game.
